There are a number of charities who collect things like old hearing aids and eyeglasses to help elderly citizens have a more productive, happy life. These go to people who otherwise could not afford hearing aids, so it can be very satisfactory knowing that you have helped someone out so tremendously. When do donate your hearing aids, make sure they are going to a reputable charity that is sure to give them to someone truly in need. Also, make sure you get a receipt. Hearing aids are an expensive item to donate, so you will be able to write off a significant donation on your taxes.
Sell Old Hearing Aids Online
Another option is to sell your hearing aids online. First, make sure you are allowed to sell them in your state. Some states prohibit the sale of used medical devices unless it is through a licensed dealer. Keep in mind that if your hearing aids were made to go inside your ear, you may have a difficult time selling them. Those are made by taking a mold of your inner ear and customizing them for you. However, if you have a behind-the-ear hearing aid, you may have more luck selling them online since they are not customized.
When you are purchasing your new hearing aids, you may even want to ask your provider if you can get a credit by trading in your old hearing aids. Your office may refurbish them and resell them or donate them to their patients who need a quick, temporary replacement.

When my daughter began having academic problems in school and acting out, I knew that something wasn’t right. Her teachers wanted me to put her on ADD medications, but I didn’t think that that was the right course for us. I had serious doubts that ADD was what was causing her problems. I took her to several different specialists before discovering that her issues in school were actually do to a visual processing problem. The doctor recommended vision therapy, not medication, to help correct the problem and get her back on track. The exercises are really starting to pay off, and she’s showing great improvement.
