3 Effective Ways To Help You Combat Stress

Blog

In life, there are going to be moments that cause you some stress. Whether it's moving or work, stress can be crippling at times. You can deal with stress in an effective manner thanks to these steps:

Get A Restorative Massage

One of the best ways to alleviate stress is to take advantage of a restorative massage from a place like Stephen Parish Massage. Using topical oils and deep-tissue massing techniques, restorative massages help relax your muscles and also lower your heart rate. Both of these things help your body produce more endorphins, which provides you with a relaxing effect.

Not only that, but these restorative massages are done in a relaxing environment, where there is a lot of ambient light. Soothing music can also be played in the background, so while your back or neck is being worked on, you won't have a care in the world. You can even customize the type of massage you get, depending on what's wrong with your body.

Soak In Your Own Portable Hot Tub

In order to let your mind relax after a long day, sometimes it's best to just relax in warm water. You can do this when you buy your very own portable hot tub. Compared to traditional hot tubs, ones that are portable are more affordable.

Thanks to massaging jets on the inside and warm water, you can enjoy yourself while spending time in your backyard where the air is fresh. Setting these hot tubs up is not stressful at all. Simply inflate them, put water inside and then plug them into an electrical outlet. They have covers attached to them, which helps you keep leaves and other things from getting into the water.

Drink A Lot Of Fruit Juice And Green Tea

Surprisingly, you can effectively alleviate stress by drinking certain drinks, such as fruit juice and green tea. Fruit juice contains a lot of Vitamin C, which is important for lowering the levels of cortisol in your body. Cortisol is a hormone associated with stress. Great fruit juices to drink include strawberry and grapefruit juice.

Green tea is extremely beneficial for stress because it contains L-theanine. This is an amino acid that has a calming effect because it stimulates the production of alpha waves. These waves occur when a person is in a calm state of being.

Being stressed out every day can really take its toll on you. To deal with stress, you can get a restorative massage, soak in your own portable spa or drink a lot of fruit juice and green tea.

Making Changes With Vision Therapy

When my daughter began having academic problems in school and acting out, I knew that something wasn’t right. Her teachers wanted me to put her on ADD medications, but I didn’t think that that was the right course for us. I had serious doubts that ADD was what was causing her problems. I took her to several different specialists before discovering that her issues in school were actually do to a visual processing problem. The doctor recommended vision therapy, not medication, to help correct the problem and get her back on track. The exercises are really starting to pay off, and she’s showing great improvement.
